The ideal candidate will have a passion for coaching and have a general understanding of a variety of different sports. They will need determination, patience, and a supportive approach towards those they coach.

Key responsibilities:

  • The successful candidate will teach high quality physical education and sport to Key Stage 1 and 2 pupils in a number of different school environments
  • You’ll be expected to plan, deliver and monitor high quality coaching activities which are progressive and reflective of the needs of primary aged children
  • You’ll be expected to perform at consistently high standards in a school environment
  • Be able to plan a range of exciting and engaging physical education coaching sessions
  • Set up and deliver a range of extracurricular activities, before school, at lunch times and after school and during the school holidays
  • You will be assigned a highly qualified and experienced coach who will support, supervise and mentor you in every aspect of the work you will be undertaking during the duration of the Apprenticeship

Desired Qualifications:

  • Minimum A-C/7-4 GCSE (or equivalent) in English and maths
  • Level 2 qualification in sport/PE/activity leadership or equivalent

Training to be provided:

  • Level 3 Certificate in Supporting Physical Education and School Sport
  • Level 3 Award in Employment Awareness in Active Leisure and Learning
  • Opportunities to gain National Governing Body Coaching Awards
  • Functional Skills in maths and English Level 2
  • Plus opportunities to attend additional qualifications (such as first aid)

Working week:

  • Monday – Friday between the hours of 8.30am – 4.30pm
  • Total hours per week: 30.00

Hourly Wage:

  • £4.15
